Lagerstroemia indicct L planted as an ornamental plant in gardens and on the home page or can be found as wild plants in the cliffs and forest edge. This plant came from China and Korea. Small tree, 2-7 m high, branching curving, tree brown, smooth and somewhat shiny. Single leaf, short-stemmed, alternate location. Leaf blade elliptic or elongated shape, the blunt edge, flat edge, dark green, 2-7 cm long, 1-4 cm wide. Flowers 10-50 cm long, wavy edge of the petals, red, white, or purple. The fruit is somewhat rounded, 9-13 mm long, 8-11 mm wide.
Leaves contain decinine, decamine, lagerstroemine, lagerine, dihydroverticillatine, and decodine. The roots contain sitosterol, 3,3 ',4-tri-o-methylellagic acid.
