Vitiligo is a disorder of pigmentation (coloring) skin, frequently familial progressive and characterized by macular hypopigmentation (white color) on the skin are asymptomatic (without symptoms). In addition to pigmentation abnormalities, no other abnormalities found on the skin.

Mucosal areas are often affected, especially genital, mouth and gums.

Several factors trigger vitiligo include:
  • Mechanical factors, in patients with vitiligo, patches can occur after physical trauma, such as after surgery or at the place where the physical and chemical trauma.
  • Factor sun or ultra violet A irradiation, in patients with vitiligo, spotting can occur after exposure to sunlight or UV A.
