Causes of Herpes Zoster Virus Varicella zoster is. Varicella zoster virus is the cause of the agent of varicella and herpes zoster. Symptoms of Herpes Zoster3-4 days before the onset of herpes zoster, the patient felt unwell, chills, fever, nausea, diarrhea or difficult urination. Blisters begin to dry and form a scab on the fifth day after they appear. Blisters containing herpes zoster virus, which if passed could cause chickenpox. Sores or blisters that lasts more than 2 weeks usually indicates that the patient's immune system is not working properly.
An attack of shingles usually provides immunity for a long time before the next attack; less than 4% of patients who experienced a second attack. Most people experience healing without leaving any sequelae. But it can form extensive scarring although secondary bacterial infection. If the facial nerve leading to the eyes can cause serious problems.
